Screw Light is a playful table lamp inspired by the familiar hardware of the workshop. Developed with Peilong Yuan as a small gift-making project at Central Saint Martins, it turns a screw and nut into an oversized, interactive object. Twisting the screw in its nut-shaped base switches the light on and off.
The translucent, 3D-printed screw acts as a diffuser, giving the lamp a warm glow when lit. A silver-finished hexagonal base echoes the nut, while an orange cross picks out the screw-head detail. Developed through a quick, hands-on process, the lamp turns a familiar twisting gesture into a tactile way to control the light.
