Making by hand develops my understanding of materials, construction and detail. Through Zisha teapot making, Chinese hardwood joinery, ceramic experiments and a sculptural game, I learn from tools, processes and other makers. Attention to proportion, fit and finish connects material exploration with the care and judgement I bring to product design.
